calculus1
Was very fortunate to pick up a quick 0.09 inch of rainfall about a half hour ago. Widely scattered showers over this way. That may be the last rain we see for a week or more. Sent from my moto e5 supra using Tapatalk Caught another brief shower to bring the day's total to 0.25 inch. We were quite fortunate. downeastnc
Had a heavy shower and even a rumble or two of thunder this morning right at dawn.....was first real measurable rain in 2 weeks probably and we probably got as much in that 20 min heavy shower as we have had the previous 25 days of the month.
donsutherland1
Yesterday, Atlanta had a high temperature of 94°. That set a new daily record high figure. yotaman
Had a few sprinkles by that was it. Currently hazy, hot, humid, and very dry 92/76. Almost 2pm and it's now 97/77. HI at 114. Yep time to start talking about the dreaded heat index once again.
Iceagewhereartthou
Hate the heat, but HURRAY for some drier weather. After at least 18 months, my yard is finally starting to dry out a little and I may even be able to catch up with my mowing. Now if we can just cool it down to normal or a little below... The 100° at Wilmington was also that city's hottest May temperature on record.

Iceagewhereartthou
A couple hours ago NWS showed CAE as having reached 100 today, but it's since been revised to 99. So 100 each of the past two days with 99 today. Forecast for tomorrow is 101, which would tie their all-time May record.
BeachCatcher
I'm so glad that this May is so dry and warm. Last weekend my husband and I went to the Lake Guntersville beach. The water was not yet warm enough for bathing but the weather was nice and we spent a wonderful weekend near the lake.

kvegas-wx
We had a similar stretch in May last year and then the tables flipped to one of the wettest summers in quite a while followed by two canes. This certainly looks like a different pattern this year but maybe an early tropical system can break things up a bit. I can't do this until September. Headed for 90 again today in the Triad. 89 and steamy now.
