Looks like we will see some more rain today but a nice Sunday and Monday..

My lawn guy came just in time lol

A pair of frontal systems will move across the region through
tonight, which will produce a couple rounds of showers and
thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may be strong with gusty
winds, hail, and heavy rain. High pressure will then ridge
southward from Canada and into the Great Lakes providing mainly
dry weather for Sunday and Monday.

That's well into June, so sad.

Really quite frustrating at this point. Struggling to break 60 for 2+ days this close to June is pretty brutal, not to mention the perpetual darkness from the dense gray cloud deck. Just an incessant W/NW flow into our area from the permanent Low pressure near James Bay. Thanks Canada.

Where was this pattern in December?

Looking at the sky all day wondering why it looks white despite sun being out. Just saw mention in BUF discussion that smoke from fires in NW Canada is moving over the area. The atmosphere is officially doing everything possible to ensure no blue sky in upstate NY. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice enough day with mild temps and filtered sun. But still, WTF.

A high of 56 on Monday, June 3rd. That has to be a pretty hefty departure from normal.

Next weekend looks warmer than average upper 70s/low 80s.

That’s 16 degrees below average, same departure as of it were 88 on Monday. 56 is just about our average low this time of year.

Last night's AFD:

Talk about "cold", H850 temperatures with this trough overhead
will be in the -1C to -3C range across Western and North Central
NY. How will this impact us? Take a look at our high
temperature forecast. Highs are only expected in the mid to
upper 50s. This put us more in line with what you would expect
in April. Pretty impressive for early June but how impressive is
this trough? Well, NAEFS mean H850 temperatures of -1C to -3C
is roughly 2-3SD below normal for this time of year. Infact, the
last time we had this kind of trough dates back to 2007 and
2009.
