Only reached 52. The record low maximum temperature for today is 48 in 1960. Could very well top the same or just below tomorrow with NWS only forecasting highs in the mid 50s. The record low maximum temperature for tomorrow is 49 in 1914. Come on already, Tuesday! #blackberrywinter

So the prognosticators of an epic Winter with a persistent Negative NAO nailed it!  Just 3 months late.

Put this pattern in January and you bury the Upper Ohio Valley with lots of snow and cold.  Rat Fart!

Persistent Negative NAO is much better for the east coast. We would probably get a lot of cold and dry if a negative NAO persisted all winter.

Indiana does not look too shabby also. Thank you Illinois for sharing your clouds with us so those of us east of you have nice sunsets too.

You can see the progression of the sunset in my Clouds thread in the photography section if you want.

Pretty toasty day today at 91.  MLI also hit 91, which was good for a new record.  Hard to believe it was snowing and sleeting < 3 weeks ago.

Cu has been bubbling up pretty good in the northern/northeastern sky.  Cap holding strong though.

91?  Dang.  Almost 20 degrees cooler here.

I was at work when that MCS rolled through but there was 0.85 in the tippy bucket when I got home. Lots of leaves liberated from the trees also. Must have been a decent blow.

A blow or hail? We had a leaf stripping hail storm tonight. EVERY tree in the area lost a ton of leaves.

Picked up 0.57" this evening.  Small hail cored missed a bit north earlier, but we picked up a brief period of peas a short while ago.  Also had 40mph winds as well.  Radar showed a small pocket of 60-70kts down near Hillsdale, so may see some tree damage on the way in to work tomorrow.

A few uprooted large trees just west of Hillsdale, and several other large trees with significant damage.  Definitely 70+mph winds went through that area.

Only 60 degrees here, which is over 30 degrees cooler than this time yesterday.  Warmth not too far away though, as MLI is at 70.
