The models say "Chicago is going to get buried". Of course, to be realistic, the actual totals will likely be 3 to 4 inches lower than the projected snow totals as shown on the models. They still seemed more focused on the heaviest along the state line.
tuanis
Not looking forward to getting outside in the middle of the night to clear off the slop from the sensitive trees/bushes. It was annoying enough during the daytime last storm. The odds of these two storms nailing the same narrow corridor in the second half of April have to be ridiculous. Baum
^ could be argued that given the leafing of the trees the hazards of even a 2-4 " wet snow warrants such an alert given projected wind speeds.
TimChgo9
Last storm I had to endure with a power outage. Com Ed was replacing a pole at the end of my block. It was planned maintenance. Despite the inclement weather, they replaced it anyway. 10 hours, no electricity. I am hoping the snow for Saturday is being overdone, but I have a feeling it's not. I would hope LOT learned from 2 weekends ago that, when dealing with an often unlikely scenario, you still have to give a heads up for what *could* happen. Stebo
Also I disagree with what DTX is selling GRR has a much better handle with their AFD. I'm actually surprised DTX is hohum especially since this is going to be coming at night here and everything looks high end.

AppsRunner
Looks like this is the real deal for Chicago. (Un)fortunately looks like I'm a little too far south to experience the fun, but this will be fascinating to watch tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing some good pictures! There are actually a lot of things favorable for tomorrow night.
CoalCityWxMan
18z NAM a sizable jump south from 12z. Not as far south as a lot of guidance, but definitely trended.

ikcarsky
In spite of my expectations this has continued to trend south. Now looking like a complete whiff for me. That cold high to the north is beefy and means business. Wish I could enjoy this without the overcast skies and mid-30s.
