...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 PM EDT FOR CATAWBA
COUNTY...

At 347 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Newton, moving north at 60 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is
         likely.

Locations impacted include...
Hickory, Newton, St. Stephens, Conover, Maiden, Claremont, Catawba,
Lookout Shoals Lake, Startown and Bandys.

This storm has a history of producing damage with a possible
tornado. Seek shelter immediately!

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter

An astounding 0.11" of rain and a distant rumble of thunder.  All that's left is this dying line of storms over GSP now.  Second bust in a row this week if this peters out.  It's been rockin' east and west of here.

Rotation just west of Chapel Hill has tightened up.
