Yeah it's an epic battle in hydorstatic balancing this time... Very warm air against a -NAO embankment of surface pressure and concomitant cold, density in the lower troposphere is taking a typology for this part of the country and infusing it with roids... As such, it's deeper than normal on the cold side, and likely 'spilling' for lack of better word, over the cordillera of whites first then greens...
