I would expect an uptick in Jan. 2020 birthdays if some of those amounts and winds pan out lol.

UMB WX
Wife said the rumble we heard was thunder. I attributed it to the power plant. She wins. Snow sticking to our road now.

MNstorms
75-83mph winds? No thanks. But still I wouldn't be surprised to see gusts to 60mph in spots.

MNstorms
Some of the heaviest snow I've ever seen. Also a bit of wind. Some places down south have it even heavier right now. 7
cyclone77
This storm is definitely an impressive wind machine. Several ob sites out in northern/northwest IA gusting over 50mph this morning. Storm Lake is currently gusting to 62mph.
OrdIowPitMsp
Measured 6.8” on the deck. Lots of compaction so true total is undoubtedly higher. Roads are a sheet of slush and ice. 1
hawkeye_wx
The wind has been howling for 24 hours. We've had a couple thundershowers this morning, but they are racing through so quickly they aren't dropping much rain.

OrdIowPitMsp
Getting a burst of pea sized hail and sleet now. Maybe even some liquid too. Really coming down hard. Edit: NWS issued a special weather statement for a line of strong thunderstorms. Didn’t hear any thunder, but definitely a dynamic system.

stockwiz
We lucked out here... only about an inch of liquid versus the 3 inches they were estimating. Just to the north and west they got quite a bit more snow, and to the south and east they got quite a bit more liquid precipitation (in the form of freezing rain) .. we managed to avoid the freezing rain and the heavy snow and got about 8 inches of snow and sleet here. https://www.weather.gov/fsd/20190411-BlizzardIcestorm-CWA
