I have a big , tall one in backyard that is on wood/lawn line. Squirrels knock them all down every Aug and Sept. But chew them just as fast. Occasionally I find whole  ones in the grass below

Nice. If you find any still in their green shell could you save some for me and take a pic? I’d pay for the shipping if you, or anyone else, could send me a bunch of them. I got 3 seedlings last year, but two look like they may not make it. They’re slow growing and have a massive tap root so it’s tough to plant them unless you do it directly from seed or in one of those D60 pots.

Yeah and no worries on paying . I can just send them up to you . I always just throw them into the woods . Remind me over the summer.

I have a huge shag hickory, will gather some and PM you for info, no cost dude I got it
