wxeyeNH
Busted out into the warm air around 8am. Wow what 55F and a warm breeze and higher dews can to snow cover. Hundreds of robins in the bare ground areas and relentless gobbling of male turkeys looking for mates. Cold front soon but mid week storm is a miss and with lots of 40's and 50's the melt will continue. Argghh, don't know why my new VP2 rain gauge is not working. Will have to take a look tomorrow. About .05" so far in the Stratus

weatherwiz
Hey Kevin. i haven’t had a hair cut since August and it was getting out of control. Used to kinda gel it, but then it started to just add extra time in the mornings. So I stopped using gel and just let it go wild...part of the reason was I was trying to think of a style. I finally got it cut this morning and just told them what I used to get...leave enough to spike up the front. The barber though styled it pretty sick. Do you think this is a cute look with the hair splashed to the side?

wxmanmitch
This is how we do "spring" around here. The recent warm up put a dent in my snow pack, but there's still 20-25" in the yard and 29" at my "stake" which is in shade most of the day. The snow has that classic dirty early spring look to it with all of the spruce/fir needles and twigs on it, but maybe we can freshen it up with a little upslope tonight. It was 51° F and sunny at 9 AM, then it was rain and fog before ending briefly as snow. It didn't accumulate so it goes in as a trace. I took a ride up by Killington yesterday and I definitely have more snow here than there is up at the top of Sherburne Pass (2,150') on US 4 by the base of Pico and Killington. The deepest pack in that area was actually just to the east by West Bridgewater even though it's in a valley.
Torch Tiger
Wow, must have taken a beating, I would have expected at least 36" if not 40".

That's a pretty impressive covering. It was a real windy winter. I've seen scenes like that before up at the ski area but not this year so far. Probably hasn't melted yet. Still probably 3 feet at Barnes Camp area at the base of the ski area at 1500ft up here in the northern latitudes. Here in town at 750ft we are melting out to probably a foot around my place. Some areas still look real deep (shady properties) and others have melted out (sunny/south-facing) to the ground around town. Highly variable snow cover this time of year as it starts melting out.

That could be the path to our shed (which would be about where that propane sits) and the woods are similar as well , though with fewer spruce-fir the pieces are larger and more scattered. Trivia note: researchers have found that such litterfall is up to 1/3 of what deer eat when yarded up in winter. Brief warmup early afternoon yesterday, high of 52 tops for March and tied Feb max - in both 17 and 18 March failed to reach the Feb high. 0.31" RA with a few flakes at the end. Only lost 1" of pack, now 26". Probably still close to 10" LE in that stuff; Saturday plans for a core lost out to cutting firewood.
