Windy as the dickens... windows and shutters rattling

It wasn't super windy but it was roaring through the trees. I like it when it sounds powerful but there aren't branches raining down.

One of the spring storms I do  remember was the April Fools day storm in 1997. We received 26-30" here.

That was such a great storm. I got 17" in just a few hours after a nice warm spring day leading up to it. That was one of those early springs and the trees had pretty much leafed out then THUMP. Unfortunately it brought down a ton of branches and lots of trees. It really was a mess but it melted in no time so the cleanup wasn't so unpleasant.

There are some pretty high spots up on the Tolland plateau that do well with backside snows in storms like this one. Even I84 tops out over 1k feet and the hills around are quite a bit higher.

Yeah, most events this late in the season favor elevation for the highest snowfall. Last March around this date was one of the rare treats for the coast with 20” of snow out in Suffolk.

It changed to snow after that and they got something like half an inch.

How far north?  South or North of I-80?  I heard that Lehighton was about as far south as the snowfall got, and there was a huge difference with elevation.

10 miles nw of Hawley. Pretty much the NY border. North of 84
