Yeah, I was looking at radarscope and had storm relative velocity on and there was a bunch of red and green together... figured it was nothing

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  The District of Columbia...
  Northwestern Prince Georges County in central Maryland...
  Western Charles County in southern Maryland...
  Arlington County in northern Virginia...
  The City of Falls Church in northern Virginia...
  Southeastern Fairfax County in northern Virginia...
  East central Prince William County in northern Virginia...
  The City of Alexandria in northern Virginia...

* Until 200 AM EDT.

* At 117 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Fort Belvoir,
  moving northeast at 60 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches
           to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as
           damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by
           downed trees. Localized power outages are possible.
           Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Arlington, Alexandria, Bethesda, Annandale, Clinton, Springfield,
  Fort Washington, Langley Park, Fort Hunt, Groveton, Forestville,
  Falls Church, Huntington, Largo, Coral Hills, Bladensburg, Fort
  Belvoir, Woodbridge, National Harbor and Fort Totten.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 AM EDT for District of
Columbia...southern and central Maryland...and northern Virginia.

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

It's pretty windy in my corner of Fairfax County (really close to the southern line of Alexandria City).
