I'd say based on the number of damage reports, this is going to be a verified ENH. A bit south of where the main area was outlooked. 

Any ground truth from Columbia?

It BLEW up once it hit the instability tongue. Good shear, halfway decent lapse rates - What a day. This is going to go down as one of the better events in recent memory.

Unsurprisingly it blew up at EXACTLY the location where there was clear sunlight earlier on vis sat.

I had a great view of that as it passed south of my office.  There was definitely some lowering and broad rotation.  Skies were about as green as I've seen them as the line was rolling in.

Alright so THAT was a good line and some good thunderstorms. I always joke that the "severe thunderstorms" we get up here are basically what we get every day in Louisiana.

 

This one though, this one was legit.

At 350 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from College Park to Alexandria to near Montclair, moving
east at 45 mph.

These are very dangerous storms.

HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Automated weather station. Reagan National Airport recorded
         a wind gust to 68 mph.

IMPACT...Expect considerable damage to trees and power lines. Your
         life is at significant risk if outdoors. In addition to
         some trees falling into homes, wind damage is possible to
         roofs, sheds, open garages, and mobile homes.

Locations impacted include...
Arlington, Alexandria, Waldorf, Dale City, Bethesda, Bowie,
Annandale, Clinton, Springfield, College Park, Fort Washington,
Langley Park, Fort Hunt, Groveton, Forestville, Falls Church,
Huntington, Largo, Coral Hills and Bladensburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION with tornado like wind
speeds expected. Mobile homes and high profile vehicles are
especially susceptible to winds of this magnitude and may be
overturned. For your protection move to an interior room on the
lowest floor of a building. These storms have the potential to cause
serious injury and significant property damage.
