Looking at dual pol, the mix line is making pretty fast progress north. It's about 20 miles south of Long Beach. HRRR shows it hitting some resistance fairly soon, but with the very heavy activity also comes more warm air if you're near the coast.

Yea very hard call especially LI because the rates should get really intense out there, could easily be a case where the south shore is pouring while north shore is seeing 1-2 inches per hour

I think its pretty location specific, I mean when I look out my window here in the UWS and see nothing but asphalt I cant help but be discouraged - especially considering how this occurred on numerous occasions last March when areas just to the N&W really cashed in. HVSnowLover
You can see how big of a deal surface temps are especially in the city, the storm two nights ago with temps 30-32 the snow stuck fine and was more powdery. Tonight 32-33 it's having a lot of issues

The major outlets said 3-6, and I'm going with that. Some areas may top that, but ours has a tendency to do less than other areas so we'll see. 6 would be the upper limit I would think, but a very good storm in any case.
