The problem with going for high numbers all the time is that if they keep busting high, people won't take them as seriously.

He doesn’t actually bust that often though. Last March he was “claiming” he got almost no snow yet all the reports around where he says he lives showed he got what NWS was forecasting. He often acts like what’s on the roads is what should count. He is ridiculous.

850's still draped through central Virginia into the south central delmarva. 925mb temps draped through calvart county into the central delmarva.  Where they set up later this afternoon will have huge implications on where the cutoff for accumulating snow will end up. Areas that remain below 0c have a good chance of getting the r/s mix to switch to heavy snow when the good stuff comes in after 4pm. The window for accumulating snow for areas just to the north/west of the cities will be sometime after 4pm imo. Will take time to cool things off after having road temps in the upper 30's/low 40's.

except the the guidance has repeatedly indicated that the primary warm layer will be around 800 mb

No it hasn’t. It literally just started in Maryland. You all need to chill out.

I consider myself part of this 'group', when I woke up at 5 am it was already raining and 35 degrees, so yes, it HAS been going on a while. Remember this covers a few states, just not your back yard. Course, I know snow is a IMBY thing........BTW, STILL rain and still 35 here.
