March 2019 Discussion

Talk about a tale of two halves for this month. The first half continued the cold and stormy pattern from the previous month and half. This culminated with the "bomb cyclone" mid-month and the flooding from it. The flooding at least locally surpassed last August's and was the first flooding since 2008 to cause evacuations in the area. The second month in contrast has been rather benign with plenty of 40-50 degree sunny days and 20-30 degree nights, with some light rain scattered in their for good measure. Overall this March will probably end up cooler than average thanks to the ridiculously cold first week.

0.3" - 2012... 53.5

0.3" 1985... 39.4

I included the monthly average temp for each year.  Shows what I have mentioned about the strange combination of such a cold March being so snowless.
