Not quite as good as 12z for the qpf queens but the look is the same. Where does it have the "heaviest" banding set up? Does it match well with the BOX snow map? I misinterpreted what he was getting at. I was thinking he was looking for RH above 100% in order for it to be saturated with respect to ice when in reality it'd be much lower than 90%. Anyway, I think you're worrying too much here Paul. You're starting off with plenty of saturation in the column up to H55 on the NAM. It's a decently deep DGZ aloft as well. The DGZ is certainly quite deep. Maybe I'm underplaying the saturation aspect, but seems like there is just some stingy dry air in there and RH values within the DGZ seem fairly low (unless 80-90% is good enough. Thought it was 90% and better preferred?
