CoastalWx
That's a lot of s/w energy diving into the trough. Too bad 6z euro op cuts off at hr 90. Verbatim that would be tough for snow to start even into NNE, but again..wish we could see future panels.

Why stay up all night to either lose even more sleep due to excitement or being pissed off based on results ? CoastalWx
Ukie looked interesting too despite way out there. I can't tell with the 24 hr panels, but it looked like the s/w diving through the Great Lakes at hr 90 on the euro, was overhead here on the UKMET. It looked like a chilly airmass. When I was young the week leading up to a severe threat I would sleep like 4 hours a night lol. Would stay up for the 0z models, then stay up for the SPC outlooks and 6z runs, sleep a bit, then wake up for 12z runs.

SouthCoastMA
A storm like what the 12z/18z FV3 GFS had yesterday is what we'd need to get snow down here. Maybe theres room to still get back there..but best shot looks to be in Maine now

weatherwiz
That 850 airmass is no joke for Saturday. Looks like the record low 850 temp at day is around -18C...won't break it but could come within a few degrees of it.

There are runners on my way to work on the back roads in Redding/Monroe where there is no shoulder. It’s dark out. Sometimes you see them at the last minute and barely avoid them. Like....Get the eff out the way, go run on a track or on roads you won’t get killed on....or at the very least in broad daylight.
