Well that was a fun one fore sure as I had to get some sleep after tracking that band all day long !  I measured a whopping 21.6" in several spots with a few drifts approaching 5ft in my yard and I think if the first 6" didn't blow away I would of measured 26", lol!

Congrats!!  That's a memorable event for sure. Did the band make it down to the airport?  Wondering if the Cuse just passed BUF in the seasonal snowfall totals...

I didnt check daily data but doubtful KSYR had more than 3 or 4" based on drive by to work this a.m.

No, the airport was south of the main band. I drove south on I81 to pick up my wife yesterday afternoon and once I passed route 31 (about 5 miles) it was a different world. The airport reported only 1.7 up til midnight and stands at 86.6 inches for the season.

This is my favorite event of the season. Unbelievable stuff. Can you upload some pics? I just love surprise winners

It’s looking like a light to moderate snowfall for the midweek thing. I’m thinking 3-4” for BUF-SYR. Not enough dynamics to get enhancement going. Maybe 5” if we get good ratios. Discount anything higher than 14:1 as synopydoesnt go higher. Usually.

Guys the midweek thing is tomorrow less than 16 hours away...all guidance has been trending up with totals and that's why the NWS hoisted the WWA at 11am today for 4 to 7. In fact most models are showing up to 8 for the buffalo to western finger lakes region tomorrow.

Seen this posted on another board..

Subject: GFS Version 15 model implementation schedule is paused until a date to be determined.

The GFS with the FV3 core shows
continued improvement over the legacy GFS for many forecast
parameters.
EMC is aware of two issues:
-The snow depth and the water equivalent of snow depth at the
surface have unrealistically large values when precipitation
occurs in environments with low-level temperature profiles close
to freezing. Techniques that use either of these variables for
deriving snowfall will exhibit excessive snowfall values.
-The model forecasts exhibit a cold bias in the lower atmosphere
that became more prominent after late September 2018.
EMC is investigating both issues and any necessary changes will
be tested. After sufficient testing and evaluation an
announcement will be sent when NCEP Central Operations (NCO) is
ready to start the formal 30-day IT Stability Test. The model
implementation schedule is currently paused during the
investigation.
In the interim, there will be no change to the availability of
products from the operational GFS model and real-time parallel.
Feedback from the community examining the model output has been
crucial in improving the model. We encourage continued
examination of the real-time parallel and retrospective data
that can be accessed as highlighted below:
-The output data from the Global Forecasting System (GFS)
