Jns2183
Is it me or were the 1980s incredibly boring and dull for climate events. You had cool, dry summers and winters, and cold, wet spring/fall. . Pro

Hopefully this summer is on the cool & dry side !
CarlislePaWx
As far as the 80's go there are only 3 noteworthy things I can think of off the top of my head: 1. February Blizzard of 1983 2. Extremely cold January of 1985 3. Extremely hot July of 1988

Itstrainingtime
There's an interesting discussion ongoing in the mid-Atlantic severe thread concerning the general ignorance of the populous when it comes to watches and warnings that are issued and what each means. This is something that personally drives me crazy. A few weeks ago there was a storm entering Lanco from the southwest that was TOR warned - we had the radio on and after the warning alarm and the announcement ended the on-air personality followed up by telling listeners that there wasn't anything to be worried about at that time, "it's only a warning, not a watch." How does a warning not sound more ominous than a watch does? Not to mention, a watch typically covers hundreds of square miles, a warning is for a much more specific area. Last week people were running around my office saying there were TOR warnings. I was like, dude, if there are TOR warnings here you'll be in a closet crying because no one here can handle severe wx. Jns2183
i did read somewhere, that the summer is to be hot and dry. Can’t wait for our area to have the improbable hot & wet summer. Yes, yes, yes....just imagine 28 straight days of highs around 94/95, lows about 80, dew points running around 75, and 16” of rain. Mosquitos growing to the size of small dogs, and unkept yards turning into mini rain forests. The inability to spend more than a minute outside before the swampass takes over. Somehow this area can pull it off. . Pro
