Thanks for posting this !

I was a little surprised to not see 2013 or 2014 on this list. One of those years seemed to be well below normal if I recall correctly.

Hopefully this summer is on the cool & dry side !

Last 20 years we have managed to have the 1 (2011), 2 (2018), 5 (2003), 7 (2004) wettest years along with the 2nd (2001) driest ever.

We’ve had the 2,4,6,9,10th wettest June, July, August’s ever as well as the wettest April, September, and November ever.

There's an interesting discussion ongoing in the mid-Atlantic severe thread concerning the general ignorance of the populous when it comes to watches and warnings that are issued and what each means. This is something that personally drives me crazy. A few weeks ago there was a storm entering Lanco from the southwest that was TOR warned - we had the radio on and after the warning alarm and the announcement ended the on-air personality followed up by telling listeners that there wasn't anything to be worried about at that time, "it's only a warning, not a watch."

How does a warning not sound more ominous than a watch does?

Not to mention, a watch typically covers hundreds of square miles, a warning is for a much more specific area.

Last week people were running around my office saying there were TOR warnings. I was like, dude, if there are TOR warnings here you'll be in a closet crying because no one here can handle severe wx.

It’s hot today. But back in April 1941 they had this stretch of hell

4/10/1941 70
4/11/1941 76
4/12/1941 72
4/13/1941 77
4/14/1941 89
4/15/1941 87
4/16/1941 81
4/17/1941 83
4/18/1941 84
4/19/1941 91
4/20/1941 92
4/21/1941 71

12 straight days >70
7 straight days >80
2 above 90

Average high was 81.3 for that stretch

Hey look. More heavy rain in the forecast for Friday

I REALLY hope Thursday morning is dry.  I am in charge of a very large housing conference that incorporates a bus tour to a multifamily development. I’d rather not have large bank and developer CEOs soaking wet.

That would suck, hopefully you can get the tour in before heavy rain. Just in case, order in a case of hooded rain ponchos

Is this the 4th or 5th friday now with heavy soaking rain? It's like a tradition now.

if i'm not mistaken, it will be the 5th.

My point and click forecast shows a chance of showers every day right through Sunday. Is this wet pattern EVER going to end???

i did read somewhere, that the summer is to be hot and dry.

Can’t wait for our area to have the improbable hot & wet summer. Yes, yes, yes....just imagine 28 straight days of highs around 94/95, lows about 80, dew points running around 75, and 16” of rain. Mosquitos growing to the size of small dogs, and unkept yards turning into mini rain forests. The inability to spend more than a minute outside before the swampass takes over.

Somehow this area can pull it off.

Like clockwork, after 5 days of of May we have just about half our monthly average rainfall. High temperatures are exactly average and our low temps are 9.2 above normal

It's amazing how consistently above average our lows have been over the past 12 months. Clouds and humidity for the loss...
