Kmlwx
5 minutes ago, high risk said: Disagree with all the people complaining about 1-8" ranges and boom/bust ideas needing to be tossed. Forecasting snow amounts isn't a contest. It's communicating the most likely outcomes along with the range of possibilities to account for model errors, localized bands, and such so that people who may need to travel or decide whether to close a business or school can assess the level of risk and their tolerance of it and make informed choices. Yeah - I think CWG is about as good as it gets in terms of communication. Agree 100% Meanwhile - back over to snow here in Colesville, MD. Now plow yet on our dead end street.

Herb@MAWS
Temp up from morning low of 27.5 a few hours ago .... to current 29.0. Snow has hung on very nicely all morning, with only a few times having a "sleet-y look". Going out to shovel now .... and to measure. Eyeballing 3.5"-4", maybe a touch more. IUsedToHateCold
Measured 3" even, all snow, coming down moderate-heavy. Like others saw a bit of sleet earlier but it appears that rates have overcome it for now.
09-10 analogy
Pretty much a snow globe out there now. At least intermittently. Around 1115 or so I heard a few pingers and thought the mix was underway. But the snow is back with some authority. Measured 3.4" at 1030 or so EDIT: and almost as soon as I write this, I hear the ping-ping-ping from our warm-nose friend.
