showmethesnow
Measured at 3 am, 4.5 inches with a temp sitting a touch over 30 degrees. After what looks to be a lull that we had overnight we are now seeing the snow pick up once again with light freezing mist mixed in. @psuhoffmanBe careful on your drive down to Balt. We have a light glaze of ice on everything and the roads look rough and look to stay that way if not deteriorate. Hopefully you are leaving late enough that the dreaded sun angle will melt everything away. I hope things go well for your son. eta: Just glanced again and we have seen a slight drop in temps with snow and small pingers mixed in as the freezing mist has backed down. CatoctinRN
Snowing lightly in Emmitsburg. The main road is pretty bad and the side roads are a mess. Still no word on schools.
Dalfy
Raining and 31 here. There’s a really beautiful, heavy glaze on the trees and grass. I’m lovin all the glistening
smokeybandit
Raining and 31 here, too. Yet no school delay despite the same weather getting one yesterday
osfan24
Had a glaze on my car when I woke up but all sidewalks and streets were just wet. Nasty morning though. 32 and mist with a nasty little northeast wind. Just got to work in Woodlawn and it was interesting seeing how much more ice, particularly sleet, it looked like they got than my location. It's probably only 10 miles northwest of where I live. psuhoffman
Freezing rain sleet mix. I have to decide now if it’s better to leave the 1” of muck that fell overnight on the drive or shovel it and throw down salt. Gonna be slippery either way. My long shared drive down the ridge will be the only hard part. I can see 30 through town below moving ok.
CAPE
Pretty wretched weather period here since yesterday AM. Rain or drizzle the whole time with temps between 32-34.

EB89
Roads were a little icy in Frederick leaving for work. Make into Leesburg and nothing on the ground. I still find it amazing how 20-30 miles makes all the difference.

notvirga!
Lots of ice on cars, trees and sidewalks. Roads are slushy, parking lots are bad.
T. August
Got .1 of sleet before it switched to rain, so grand total is 6.0.
Jandurin
How does that happen? I saw that in NC during and after that December snow. If you just go slow you probably won't end up in a ditch. If you don't drive at all you definitely won't. Is that the new car abandoning tactic? I swear this cars in ditches thing was never so prevalent. Fozz
Very ice outside, with all the trees glazed up. I’m going with 3.2” as my final total.
Steve25
I measured about 2 inches of compacted snow in Parkville, now all the cold surfaces look glazed. Haven't ventured out, but I've heard cars flying by so I'd imagine roads are just wet which makes sense.
Steve25
When do the official measurements by "trained spotters" start coming in? I never know where to find that info.
ErinInTheSky
There's some ice on trees but it as dripping this morning. Germantown was pretty meh for this event. The sleet at the beginning was the only thing of note.

wxdude64
Just missed ice again this am with a 33 low. Yesterday had .10 inch of ice/glaze on everything which was quite pretty but very slick. Currently raining and 33.6/33.0 here.

Eskimo Joe
M0.2" zr in Reisterstown when I left this morning at 6:30. The pine trees on my property looked like they were about to give up and the roads in my neighborhood were terrible. Even my Subaru had a hard time at intersections. It was unusually icy in Laytonsville as well...I measured 0.15" ZR on Howard Chapel Rd and there were some tree branches (deciduous and coniferous) that had come down on power lines in Laytonsville actually. We probably missed a legitimate ice storm in Maryland by about 3 or 4 hours had we not gotten than lull in precip last night.
