National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC
516 PM EST Mon Feb 11 2019

.SYNOPSIS...
Low pressure will pass to the northwest tonight and Tuesday.
High pressure will return for the middle portion of the week.

&&

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TUESDAY/...
515 PM update: Added the central Virginia Blue Ridge to the
Winter Storm Warning. Also expanded the advisory through the
Baltimore area and into the northwest suburbs of Washington DC.
This is all due to expected freezing rain. In addition, a small
area of 5 to 8 inches of snow and sleet is likely north of
Interstate 70 in northern Maryland (mainly right along the
Pennsylvania border), when including snow from last night and
this morning.

Criticism that's pretty damn on point

Forecast 1-2 and end up with 5-7 if not more for some that's pretty off.

You done yet? Do this thread and the board a favor and scram. There are individuals on this board who work tirelessly for LWX, who didn't see a paycheck for 30+ days and may be in the same boat again come Friday. So commenting on their pay and shitting on their forecasting abilities isn't welcome, considering we appreciate their feedback on events...unlike yourself.

As a federal employee myself, not NWS, I would say constructive criticism is something anyone should gladly accept, but crap about pay checks etc. is unwarranted.  Also, recognize that most federal employees are doing their best to serve the public, but we are human and can make mistakes.  I make at least one every day....

That’s enough about LWX. Their forecast wasn’t 100% correct in a complicated situation. Shocker. They did pretty well CWA wide. Conversation over.

Thank you very much.  I read  APDs from Sterling whenever I'm curious about those insights.  The meteorologists at LWX have scientific integrity and work well as a team.  Everyone here should welcome the LWX team, you may learn from those folks.  If someone here has a scientific beef with LWX, voice your views in the refined tone of a college-educated adult.

Kitchen sink along the M/D line in Northern Carroll . Snow/sleet/ frz/ locusts etc...

31/30 with a ne wind

Total daily acc (3.6") actual depth a little lower . I missed about 2 1/2 hours of measuring so it could be slightly higher.

Still all snow here. Measured 3" snow depth here at 4:30. Still getting that NE flow so hopefully we can get some better rates in here to get everything to sag south again.
