High pressure will return for the middle portion of the week. && .NEAR TERM /THROUGH TUESDAY/... 515 PM update: Added the central Virginia Blue Ridge to the Winter Storm Warning. Also expanded the advisory through the Baltimore area and into the northwest suburbs of Washington DC. This is all due to expected freezing rain. You done yet? Do this thread and the board a favor and scram. There are individuals on this board who work tirelessly for LWX, who didn't see a paycheck for 30+ days and may be in the same boat again come Friday. So commenting on their pay and shitting on their forecasting abilities isn't welcome, considering we appreciate their feedback on events...unlike yourself. T. August
While I think @Snowlvr was too harsh, I do think there can be legitimate criticism in the fact that they haven’t even issued a late WSW for SE HarCo. The area of warning snows is very small, so in the end it doesn’t matter.
notvirga!
The inch or two so of sleet is now getting crusted over with freezing rain which continues to mix. Sidewalks are going to be nasty and possibly secondary roads tomorrow morning. Going to be picturesque I bet with all the ice on the trees. WxUSAF
That’s enough about LWX. Their forecast wasn’t 100% correct in a complicated situation. Shocker. They did pretty well CWA wide. Conversation over.
Weather Will
As a federal employee myself, not NWS, I would say constructive criticism is something anyone should gladly accept, but crap about pay checks etc. is unwarranted. Also, recognize that most federal employees are doing their best to serve the public, but we are human and can make mistakes. I make at least one every day.... The meteorologists at LWX have scientific integrity and work well as a team. Everyone here should welcome the LWX team, you may learn from those folks. If someone here has a scientific beef with LWX, voice your views in the refined tone of a college-educated adult.
