I've driven from Columbia to Silver Spring this morning (around 4am) and just went from Silver Spring to Potomac and there is not a hazard to be found on the road other than wet pavement and stupidity.

My wife had to drive up to PA and said the roads were a little dicey at times in baltimore Co and then snow covered once she got into PA with numerous people off the roads, pretty much bad roads where you'd expect them to be. I had no problems in MoCo at all, roads were fine.

Nam suggesting  a legit freezing rain event

Currently moderate snow 29

Over 2.5"

Yikes.... I hope that's wrong. Shows well over half an inch of ice in my area if I'm reading it right.

ETA: Surface temps appear to be right near freezing on the NAM, so hopefully it won't be as bad as that looks.

I think it's time to create a new description for rain at 31-32...a glaze on trees and hand railings and the occasional slick spot on step is not freezing rain in my book. From now on I shall call it....wait for it....crusty rain. Follow if you want...don't care if you don't. :hurrbear:
