lakeeffectkid383
Just came from Hamburg, WOW! Just as bad or worse then yesterday when they issued the driving bans . Coming up from the village up McKinley you could not see a single thing with cars off the road and their hazards on going only 10mph and couldn’t even see them.

Hi-res (HRDPS in particular IMO) has done really well in placing the band. It’s up here for a bit before crashing south. You guys are in the middle of it now. Has to be coming down hard. At least classes were cancelled today. You're going to pick up some snow. The HRRR is bad with LES intensity/placement/inland extent. I can't say I ever really use it even during the events themselves. Thanks for the update. RAP isn't looking too great either.

CNY_WX
It looks like a secondary band has formed from Oswego to Pulaski. Appears to be a continuation of a band off Lake Erie.

wolfie09
Looking at some of the other guidance i'm thinking the Hrrr probably has to much of a "northerly"component..Almost other meso-models have more of a west-east based band but some hug the shore with limted inland extent.. Nontheless Kuchera show's around 20" for the New haven area lol

CNY-WXFREAK
Don't let Wolfie get your hopes up CNYwx of seeing a few flakes cause as soon as soon as the band just about gets here, its gonna shrink back to the Lake, lol!

CNY-WXFREAK
Hey Wxwatcher, now your in a real LES band, not what you experienced a couple days ago as this is a whole different beast right here. Easy 3-4" rates in the middle of that band where its real calm and its just pouring snow and accumulating fast!!
AppsRunner
I think what's most impressive is how well the KART ASOS is picking up liquid. 0.09" last hour and 0.07" this hour. Even on a conservative 20:1 ratio that's about 2"/hr. Chances are it's closer to 3-4" now.
CNY-WXFREAK
Man o man that is one serious band right there and how I wish I had a vehicle equipped for such harsh conditions. Maybe one day we'll see one of these bands down here by us, yeah right as we have a better chance of seeing a Hurricane than we do one of those bands, lol! CNY-WXFREAK
It can actually be higher right now. Its real easy to measure when your in the middle of one of those kinds of bands as winds are calm in the center. Its just an incredible weather phenomenon that will amaze anyone who gets to experience it!
