I measured a legit 1 inch of snow on my cleared off porch. The rates were insane!!! It was well worth the wait. I don't like the looks of the US-222 accident, though. Very unfortunate. Radar showing a thin line of yellows up your way.

There were only a few offices that were first rolling it out based on the post someone shared earlier gotcha, i saw them issued earlier in western and central pa so I was wondering why they weren't expanded for our area. Seemed like a great way to get the message of danger out there. Thank god this isn't coming in a hour or 2 later...

Wasn't sure what the CWA cutoff is regarding where Reading falls but CCX was on the original list for roll-out of it last January. Don't know what their phase-in schedule is for the rest of the stations but I thought this year was supposedly for all... Edit - Eskimo Joe confirmed my thoughts! BBasile
https://www.weather.gov/media/aly/PSAs/SnowSqualls.pdf "Effective on or about November 1, 2018, the NWS will transition a series of products from demonstration to operational status. These products include the highly localized, polygon-based Snow Squall Warnings and Dust Storm Warnings; a new zone-based Blowing Dust Warning; and a new polygon-based Dust Advisory product at all NWS Weather Forecast Offices (WFO)." https://www.wnem.com/news/what-is-a-snow-squall-warning/article_5a5c2201-7df8-5763-b746-204bb12a4a7e.html "It does have to meet a few criteria: A snow squall warning must meet whiteout conditions. That means visibility of a fourth-mile or less. You also need subfreezing road temperatures, which will allow snow to pile up quicker. A snow squall can only last 60 minutes or less. To qualify, it also must cause dangerous, life-threatening travel conditions on the roadways."
