Tuesday is March 5th. Average for Toledo on March 5th is a high of 42 and a low of 25. The latest NWS forecast for Toledo says high 17, low 7. This would be a 25 below average for the high, 18 below average for the low. The record lowest is high of 18, low of 1 on March 5, 2015.

Snow winding down.  Looks like a storm total around 7-7.5", we'll see when the official number comes out.  Quick hitting but intense little storm.

Lake enhancement/banding has been really common this season especially compared to recent years. A nice cherry on what’s been a snowy winter for the GTA.

Sounds about right.  It was probably dropping 2"/hr rates.  Now we're back to run of the mill -SN here in the west end but that band is stalled out on the Scarborough/Pickering line.  Candidate for our jackpot zone.

I'd say I was in one of the sweet spots. About 8" of fluffy snow at my place.

Best winter of this decade in my books, even with the dead patch from the end of November through mid January.  You can make an argument for 2013-14, which was no doubt a good winter, but also very frustrating when you're on the sidelines of a *historic* winter taking place just to your SW.  And actually, if we can scrape together 3", we'll have more snow this winter than we did in 2013-14 anyways.  If you like cold and consistent snow-cover though, 13-14 wins.

Wow.  2013-14 is a Winter that will probably never be matched locally for its severeness. The worst Winter of this decade was 2011-12, lol but this is definitely on the lower end for me rather than the upper end.

Oh yeah, in Detroit, 2013-14 is a once in a lifetime occurrence. 90 some odd inches right?  Talk about everything that could go right, going right.

Book is still being written on 2018-19 with March and April still ahead.  Who knows, you might still pull out an above normal snowfall winter.

Edit: right in your sig. 96.2"

'11-12 was my favorite and the only winter were if I was gone elsewhere I'd be bummed. Now I have colder or average temperatures and the same nothingness that 11-12 had permanently.

This February wasn't too bad because there were more sunny days than last year IIRC. In fact sunny days aren't that common in my spot in Feb. I don't like this winter but one major positive I can point to is that there wasn't any super long stretch of dark cloudiness/overcast that challenged my sanity.

Welcome met spring!  What a great month of weather to end met winter.  A little over 100" fell here in February... still moving it around and pushing it away from things and taking the load off the roof.  Six more weeks of solid snow-storm climo, and with an icy Superior, probably another cold spring, super short summer with a light frost occurring in late August and then snow by October. :P

Monthly stats for MQT

snow- 89.9" (6.88 liquid)

Avg temp-  10.4 (departure -5,1)

lowest-   -25

highest-  32

greatest depth-  53"

We should place some bets when all the snow on your property will be fully gone haha. I remember there used to be one with a snowman webcam somewhere in northern MI or Northern MN.

Yes. 96.2" was my backyard, Detroit had 94.9". But yes...it was INCREDIBLE. Records were smashed left and right for cold, snow, and snowdepth. Snow was blowing and drifting everyday with the relentless arctic winds. I had a whole records page of it. There were 34 MORE days with double digit snow depth that winter than the previous record-holder.

Where were you in 2011-12?

lol I hated it. Of course there were some snowy days but definitely the least wintry winter ive experienced. Still quite cloudy if i recall, but what winter here isnt lol?

Detroit got scraps of snow this Feb while other years had record Feb snow, but I guess Ma Nature is giving us a break. Our great run of Febs...is it over, or a 1 year hiatus? These are the top 12 snowiest Febs, records to 1880. In 2007, you would see 1986 in 5th place. Its now 12th.
