Driving south from DC down 395 the progression was roughly:

Before 3:10 - all or almost all rain
3:15 - Flipped to mostly snow around Seminary Rd
3:35 - got home to SSW Franconia/Kingstowne, mulch and some grass accumulation

Now (4pm) - car has been topped, starting to stick to pavement

Expectations exceeded for south of town.

It's dumping in West Springfield/Burke.  Side roads have caved and even Old Keane Mill wasn't completely clear 15 minutes ago.  It's backed off a bit now to normal snowfall, so warmer surfaces are catching back up.

Just took the dog on a Jebwalk. Stunning outside right now. Just under 2 inches here. Still light snow. Here's a couple of shots I took. Please excuse the poor camera skills. Never have been good with a camera.

Very nice CL.  I managed 0.9", so you really did well.

Popping in to say congrats and good luck. Any wind out there as the changeover happens?

Been dead calm here just NW of Vienna on Lawyers Rd. since the onset.

Had a slight breeze from the NW when I left work at 14:00.  Work is adjacent to rt28 near interchange of 28 and McLearen about 1/2 mile from the Dulles main N/S runway.  That said, it's just about always breezy at work being adjacent to 28, the airport and out in the open.  Never had any rain there at all.  Went from a few flurries, to SN-, to SN in about 20 mins.

Just had a great band here at home for about 15 mins that deposited about a 1/2".  Must have been one of the 35dbz bands showing up on NEXRAD.  Still dead calm out.
