I think I see what she's asking for...

The weight of water in lbs as a function of snow depth and or volume (length,width,height)...

Density of water = 997 kg/m^3.

Assuming a volume of 1 cubic yard:

weight(depth) = ((997 kg/m^3)*[1 yard]^3*[(3 ft/yard)^3]*[(12 inch/ft)^3]* [( 2.54 cm/inch)^3]* [(1m/100cm)^3)])*2.20462 lb/kg == 1680 lb

You can also change it to (assuming length/width/height is measured in yards):

weight(length,width,height) = ((997 kg/m^3)*[length*width*height]*[(3 ft/yard)^3]*[(12 inch/ft)^3]* [( 2.54 cm/inch)^3]* [(1m/100cm)^3)])*2.20462 lb/kg

Just be careful with the units. I made these two conversions assuming you measured a depth/length/width/height in yards. You'll have to exclude some terms if you utilize a different unit of measurement.

edit: weight not wight...

Or use an already developed roof snow load calculator

Basically, i was asking to help a friend out with his plowing business. Im not sure how his contracts are written, but i guess he needed to know the weight of what he was plowing/clearing. Funny thing is, after all that, he had a chart. I calculated a weight based on a 5:1 ratio and his chart showed a heavier weight for a cubic yard of snow. I guess it must have been calculated for moving those huge parkinglot plow pile mtns.

Well, the Pit was sold yesterday.  Hanging in Westboro last night while we wait for our purchase to get recorded.  Then, bring in the movers.

I am beat!!!!

It looks like I've missed diddly on the board during my move.  This weekend will allow me to see what types of leaks exist in the new house.
