Could there be any ice jam issues with the expected warm up?

Down here it doesn't look thick/solid enough to jam up - it's mainly smaller ice chunks that aren't fully connected to one another. Not sure about anything upstream though.

Last year's river ice was epic. Bus-sized icebergs washed up on Front Street!

Wow what a sight that'd be! Lol I'm fascinated by river ice for whatever reason.

Came across this interesting video the other day...on the Philly board.  In case you did not see it.  The subject is pinned there with more back story.

Quick scan of the climate summary for MDT showed we were only 0.5 F degrees above normal for the month and we were 0.7" above normal snowfall for the month.  Interestingly last year we were 1.5 degrees below normal but we were also 3.0" below normal snowfall for the month.  Given the warmth that we had the first half of this month we more than made up for it with the second half.

Weather has been really bipolar for a while now. Only constant has been moisture, though that looks to be working itself away lately. Curious if we have a mini drought this spring/summer.

In the last 20 years we had below normal precipitation at KMDT the following years:

1999,2001,2002,2005,2010

So for 15/20 years we have been above normal

MDT may break over their Feb precip average in the next 10 days alone.

It's been snowing at the best rates of the storm over the past 30 minutes.  Just measured 0.9" on the board.  That's not saying that much, but it's at least a few tenths per hour now vs. less than a tenth/hr before.  Temp holding at 15.4 degrees.  Looking at radar it looks like good rates for about another hour.  Might make it to 1.5".

Bubbler look out...heavy snow headed your way...maybe for Cashtown also if it holds together.

Looks like bubbler's about to get hit good.  I'll bet a 1/2" additional from that alone.  Meanwhile, here it's letting up and I'm back to really light snow.  Officially 1.0" on the board.  Temp up to 16.5.

We shall see...the first part if it went south of my place.  Still plenty to the west though.

Thanks, they are just skirting to my south right now.  Still moderate snow but not 25 or 30 dbz level.  Hopefully the stuff in Central Franklin comes through.

It just got here...flake sizes doubled in the last couple minutes.
