BuffaloWeather
14.6" storm total. A solid 12-13" of snow on the ground with compaction, impressive. Great storm here.
Buckeyes_Suck
Now here’s hoping that we stay sub freezing till I get back from Florida’s next Sunday! I want so much snow I’m my driveway that I can’t get down it
Syrmax
Just measured another 1.5” as of 10 am (7a - 10a). Seems low given the rates we’ve had but it’s windy also. Storm total up to 10.3”. Crawling our way up. Not sure lake effect will amount to much here but we’ll see.
tim123
Think lake is kicking in. Flakes bigger all of a sudden in walworth
BuffaloWeather
Totals would have been much higher with better dendrites. The pack right now is thick compared to typical 1:20 type stuff. I'd wager it was 1:12 throughout the event. Going to do a sample later of the depth SWE.

Snow growth just wasn't there. Nearest spotter had 1.11 QPF, so at 1:20 that would have been close.

They almost never pan out thats why their called clown maps, for a reason! I did take a few looks at model soundings prior to event but I didn’t pick out that snow growth would be so godawful. I had under 10:1 with zero mix. This has bagged us before in synoptic storms and is usually a good reason to just stick with 10:1. Back in January 2005 we had a similar event (was a coastal low though) but similar temps during storm. Ended up around 12” but flake size was similarly small. CNY_WX
I finally got the snow in my tube melted and the LE is 0.80 inch from 9.2 inches of snow. That gives a ratio of 11.5 to 1 which seems reasonable.
vortmax
Anyone have a sounding for ROC today to see where that cap is? Wondering if it's going to be around 10k like some models were predicting.
CNY-WXFREAK
It would be super funny if we get more from LO today and tonight then all of Harper! Harper had GOMEX and the ATL to work with so lets see what LO has to say this evening and tonight with 25-35mph winds, brutal!

Looks even better 3 hrs later, wow! Lapse rates throught the roof cap 7-8000K! Snow growth the whole way down!

OSUmetstud
There was suggest that better ratios closer to 15:1 would manifest in the 06z to 09z time frame during good mid level omega through the sgz. I wonder if that verified. Buf had almost dead on 10:1 yesterday on the climate report.
lakeeffectkid383
Finished with 16.7” here. Can see the nice little maxima right over what is normally the “screw zone” in most events. Looks absolutely beautiful outside! Great awesome storm! Hope everyone else can keep cashing in especially around ROC later with the lake effect!
