Gorizer
Maybe Albany/Schenectady squeak by without the taint, by a hair? Gonna be very close. But at least there’s hope! As of 1234 AM EST...Latest KENX radar and ground truth indicate moderate to heavy snow is occurring across a large portion of the Albany forecast area, as the strong baroclinic zone ahead of the warm front is impacting the region. Some embedded laterally transitioning mesoscale bands may be setting up documented in the CSTAR research. We have an SPS out for some 1-2"/hr rates. KALB has had 1"/hr hour snow increase group the past few hours. Interesting, that the 00Z GFS has trended colder with perhaps the ptype holding as mostly snow from KALB north and west
Syrmax
KALB SN+ 8F, vis 0.2 miles KGFL SN+ 4F, vis 0.2 miles There goes the CNY major snowstorm. They deserve it though, that area has been screwed over a lot in the past decade plus. We at least have LES to make up the difference.

BuffaloWeather
Storm TOTAL snowfall is now projected to average 15 inches or more for the bulk of western New York... with lower amounts of 10 to 15 inches more likely for the counties lining Lake Erie and also for sites north of the Tug Hill. The highest amounts...which could conceivably top two feet...will be from Monroe to western Oswego county...where lake enhancement from Lake Ontario will provide an additional boost to snowfall totals. These snowfall amounts may not be as important though as the 20 to 30 mph winds that will blow and drift the snow into drifts SEVERAL feet deep. I was there in the northern suburbs of Chicago over Thanksgiving for my sons graduation from Navy boot camp in Waukegan. Poor guys there now dealing with snow also. BGM Blizzard
Between 8 and 9 inches here. Rates are up and down. Figuring around 12 here for a total maybe little more if we get lucky to stay all snow and avoid any dry slotting.
