You'd normally need a warm layer above somewhere and it looks like that's unlikely but if we get close enough to the mix line I'd think the possibility may exist. rochesterdave
Seem to be struggling with a bit of dry air on the NW side. Hope to see it fill soon. Waiting is always hard. Lol

Yeah, looks like it'll be CSI related bands across CNY through the ADKs with a little bit of convective instability near the mix line like you said. Waiting is always hard. Lol Returns don't seem to be blossoming at all and every time they do they shortly fall apart thereafter. Is a little concerning but I guess we have to wait for the low to move closer to us to enhance the precip.

BuffaloWeather
Don’t worry fellas that band is going to expand and intensity in the next few hours and especially overnight. Should be some good banding in central New York.
BuffaloWeather
The low is still near Nashville, some nice convection down there which usually leads to a slightly more nw track

Don't worry your not alone. I'm in the same boat lol! Felt like Ike we were off to a blazing start which likely got my expectations too unrealistically high so now just need to check myself, tell myself we weren't even supposed to have this much snow by now, and be positive. This one should end with 1'+ here which will only take about another 6-6.5" to accomplish.

Thinksnow18
Looks like from about 9 or 10 to about 6am will see the heaviest returns in WNY and later in CNY. I haven't come across a forecast (nowcast) that gives less than a foot average for all WNY.
