CNY_WX
Just started snowing heavily here in the last 5 minutes. The orientation of the band to the southwest gives me hope it might last here a little longer than 10 minutes.

Nah, very doubtful, lol as mine lasted 10 and now the suns out dimmly and will soon see true Sun as these 2 bands really get going and it does nothing but blow exhaust in between so the next few days will be cold and boring except for the 10-20 minute squall we'll get in between now and then, lol! This event is starting to remind me of December 2017. There was a double band lake event and the models only picked up on the southern band...meanwhile the northern band pushed into the Northtowns and dropped about 10" in about 5 hours. I see the same scenario later today. Also the shift upstrean is already taking place over lower Michigan.

Thats interesting and would love to see it unless once the system passes, the one from Mon-Tues, heads to the ESE instead of NE like the models are showing. It's been lighter then the stuff early this morning though. Right now moderate snow. If you go to Buf NWS radar and click on Detriot you can see the bands going pretty far north and the wind shift. It's really close to showing up on lake Erie already.

Buffalo Bumble
I'm very curious to see what the Euro snow map looks like for next week. I have absolutely no idea what the weather would look like in upstate as depicted on the Euro with a 1002 mb low over Delta's house on Tuesday, then a 985 mb low screeming up the CT river valley on Wednesday. Won't happen, but wonder what kind of snow/rain that sucker spits out...

BuffaloWeather
....Lake effect snow north late this afternoon... Lake effect snow is expected to intensify and move north late this afternoon over Metro Buffalo and points east, where it will remain through the evening. This band will graze the Northtowns while hitting the Southtowns again. This band will also cover portions of Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Lancaster, and Alden. Expect from a trace of snow from Tonawanda to as much as additional 8 inches tonight under the center of the band. This will have adverse effects on the evening commute, first over many of the Southtowns by 3 PM, then Metro Buffalo and east between 4 to 6 PM as the band moves north. Snow rates will range from 1 to 3 inches per hour, and the band should be about 15 miles wide.
SouthBuffaloSteve
Can definetly see the northward drift kicking in and the band falling apart. Maybe it’s getting ready to reorganize as a new single band again. Should be a fun evening ahead!
