lpaschall
Looks like it's snowing just 10 miles or so to the north of me. Sitting at 31 and rain when forecast called for 35 at this time.
Nalanthi
So given the expected lull between the end of precipitation tomorrow and the freeze, do you think the major roads will be dangerous tomorrow?

smokeybandit
If we lived in PA, we'd be calling this storm a bust, for as often as they've been reducing forecast snow totals today
Ruin
yeah every one please be safe. this is why I hate when local news/mets saying be dodged a bullet. sure we are not getting as much as we once were. but the roads will still be bad on top of this the flash freeze from everything wet and melting in the areas that have the snow. paxpatriot
Just measured 3.1 inches, and we have flipped to a sleet/snow mix. Huge clumps coming down. Temp up to 31.9F.

lpaschall
I feel likes the temps are busting lower than models foretasted. Not sure what that means since I am at 31-32 and it appears to be mostly rain with some flakes mixed in...Not really accumulating

poolz1
Rain. Temp keeps creeping down..... 10th of a degree every 30 min or so. 32.9 now. I am sure it will start climbing here soon but would think there is a pretty good ice storm going on in the valleys of the hills to my NW.
CatoctinRN
It's pretty much all sleet/fr rain now. Measured 2.4 in in Emmitsburg..I'm literally on the farthest point here PA line is walkable.

Snow pack is holding on strong though. Nothing but rain here. Went to dinner at carrabas and ran into sleet about a mile north of Stephen's city. Came out of the restaurant and drove up to lowes at about 7pm and it was heavy sleet with some ground coverage. Drove back home to my 34F rain. Maybe 50+. That + high dews and rain = brown and a dirty pile of dog pee covered snow by the street. We're not going below freezing for 18 hours. EastCoast NPZ
My rain gage cracked, so relying on closest PWS: 1.8" so far. Probably more than my yard, but it figures this is when we jackpot. ****ing worthless winter. Just checked other stations and they are in the .7 -.8 range. Not sure what's up with that 1.8 report, but doesn't seem correct. Oh, well, this winter is still worthless.

WVclimo
3k NAM shows my high temperature overnight at 35, and then it falls below freezing by 10:00 a.m. Pretty sure I will hang on to most of the snow cover here, at least until Wednesday's rain. Jrlg1181
While its only rain here at the foot of Afton Mt, there is over a half inch of ice on the trees and signs on the very top of Afton and particularly along the road past Swannanoa a couple hundred feet higher up .......
