Supposed to fly home from Italy on Sunday, landing in Boston around 10 PM.  Is our flight likely to be canceled?

Unless the system speeds up a lot or dramatically changes its track, then there is almost no chance you'll land in BOS sunday evening.

Just looked at the Euro...SWFE on steroids for sure with that moisture feed from the Gulf. Weary of widespread 18''+ for those who remain all snow but there is definitely double digit potential. Guess I have to come to terms with swapping the Nikes for snowshoes. It was a good run.

For system like this, BOS generally kills off all service. What it does wind up meaning is that BOS winds up at full ops the next day, as opposed to, say, JFK. Travel waiver will probably come out tomorrow. Enjoy the extra day in Italy.

Yeah Sat at 7pm should be before any snow...at worst, maybe a little light snow right near the onset, but it's prob not starting until closer to 10-midnight would be my guess right now.

Let's predict which user melts first when the 18z GFS pumps out a veiny high hard-one through Albany again ...

j/k but ... maybe not -

I want it to torch at 18z and then cave cold at 00z. Then the ukie and ec come in at 0z uber amplified again.

That solution almost looks too fast .. but.. been concerned about a pancaked system all along so we'll see -

That Nam was the most pancaked of all but made a shift NW @18z, Course its just coming into range on the Nam for up here now at the end of its run.

Know what's gonna be a fun solution is when this gets into the RGEM's bee-house...  ho man..

It will probably spit out 3.5 inches of QPF....3 feet of snow where its cold enough and an infrastructure-crippling historic ice storm where it's warm aloft.

The Canadians should just say f-it Kevin, ... you're now in charge of parameterizing and tweaking Navier Stokes -

International flights are rarely if ever cancelled unless you have some sort of catastrophic weather event.  Those are by far the last flights to get axed
