Thundersnow12
All snow here for the last 20 mins or so since these heavier returns moved overhead. These look to train too so could be a quick inch or two from VYS-ARR-DPA and eventually to near ORD

hawkeye_wx
Cedar Rapids kinda ended up in a precip hole this afternoon/evening. Locations both well east and well west are doing better.
hlcater
Similar to what Hawkeye literally just posted, I only have 0.3-0.5" of snow so far. I've been stuck in flurries for over 2 hours.
Malacka11
Snowing at a decent rate here in Aurora now. I, too, have my fingers crossed that the rain doesn't intrude too far north tonight.
ConvectiveIA
We’re trapped under a moderate snow band for some time now. Got about 1.5-2 inches of fresh snow since it started at 2 this afternoon

Been a fun little storm.

michaelmantis
In the hour I cooked dinner, we now have 1/2 inch of snow on top of what was a sheet of ice. Shoveling whatever "this" becomes in the morning is going to be a nightmare. Regardless of what comes, people will definitely need to clear driveways before the temps tumble tomorrow late morning. tuanis
Looks like the rain-snow line is down around I-80 at the moment. Will have to watch it dance around as the low lifts NE. Looks like it may go north of STL.

I feel bad for anyone who is at higher risk of falling. You better believe it. Worst conditions I've worked in yet. Sidewalks, porches, side streets...just a total sh*t show. And it got worse when it got dark. There is no accrual on cars or trees, but with the ground being cold...it's just adding to ground conditions being an ice rink. And all this crap is gonna freeze hard tomorrow. FML.

FML. how much snow do you still have on the ground....alot of this liquid will absorb/freeze into the snowpack increasing the snow water equivalent with the cold and clipper pattern the next 2 weeks it will continue to add to it....(worried about IL river flooding down the road, family members get flooded out....)
