78Blizzard
The ICON map only shows snow and rain, not other frozen precip, so the sharp cutoff makes sense.

Greg
Nah, GFS still sucks for Friday. Wants to take the Low over LI to the South Shore of Massachusetts to the Gulf of Maine. In other words lousy track.

Baroclinic Zone
Not seeing huge differences in the GFS from 18z but riding out west is just a bit further east and PV looks to press just ever so slightly.

Greg
The high pressure is weaker this time on the GFS. It not elongated this time but still needs to get better. Still time.
ORH_wxman
GFS is a touch colder than the 18z run...biggest trend was lower heights north of NE prior to the storm so the dome holds tougher....it also didn't allow the PV to elongate to the SW quite as much. It kept the southern energy more independent longer, so it was able to strengthen there, but out ahead of it, the PV was clearly pressing north of Maine more...so you had opposing trends there. More amped in the OV but more compressed in the NE. Pretty much a SWFE now.
