Stormpc
I'd rather stare at the radar and only experience a little bit of the snow outside. That's me. 29.5/27 light snow .4in.

clskinsfan
Just took the dog on a halftime Jebwalk. It is stunning outside. Absolutely no wind at all. Just the crackling noise of the snow bouncing off of things as it falls. Roads and everything else are covered. Just under one inch here N/W of Winchester. Snow and 27 degrees.
real
After the dry slot that appears to be heading for the DMV, what time is the snow supposed to start back up again tonight?

For folks north of I66 there may be no lull at all. The area of precip in WV is moving west. Radar is filling back in already. We're in a really good spot for this event

WesternFringe
Here in Augusta County: Part 1 gave me over an inch, then there was a lull in which it never stopped snowing. Now entering Part 2 of the storm which should have the most qpf and the best returns . Snow is picking up and radar looks juicy to my sw. Part 3 on Monday that some models are showing would be icing on the cake.

So many things have to come right for this event which always makes you nervous. The straight up Miller As that come screaming out of the south are so much easier on the nerves. 87storms
i can honestly say i don't care too much what amounts we end up with, though i still think we do fine as the system takes shape and starts to transfer it's energy to the coast. it's just nice that it's a weekend and we have a long duration snow to experience. it's only jan 12. even if we end up with 2-3", we have plenty of time for a bigger event. with that said...radar looks decent. i expect the lull to fill in a bit to the west as the precip gets shunted to the east as it runs into that stout high. just got home from hitting the gym and flake size was ideal...just need the rates. dman
Snowing steadily, about 0.5" on deck rails, lull coming in about 15 minutes. Dry slot looks to be filling in, so lull shouldn't last too long. 31.5F.

dukeblue219
A healthy 0.5" on our deck and cars in Silver Spring, just inside the Beltway. Our local street with no traffic has spots of white now but is largely black. I'm showing 30.6 degrees.
