Bob Chill
I will take the ICON more seriously with future storms. It picked up on the trailng piece first and also did very well with gradients and ptype etc. All models were too dry leading in. Overall the icon was pretty accurate and consistent.

Haven’t measured depth recently, but it was well over 8” at 4:00 or so. Great spot on the deck railing.

I'm so surprised it filled back in and is actually light to moderate and accumulating once again. I spoke too soon when I said we ended on a weak note. Reports of 10-12” all around ec, Columbia, etc And reports of 4-6” in NW Baltimore county. What a crazy gradient. Yep..east side of Baltimore county didn’t fare well today either. I can confirm no new accumulation today, in fact it didn’t even snow much all day even under radar returns. I have to assume dry air in some part of the atmosphere was a problem
jackb979
And after 6,703 mid atlantic sub-forum posts related to this storm (threat threat+storm mode thread+this thread), this storm is wrapping up here in McLean with a little over 10 inches on the ground. What a fun storm to track Would really be interested in hearing a post-mortem by one of the more experienced members of this sub. Talk about an overperformer-a couple days ago we were saying we'd consider ourselves lucky if we got 5 inches of snow.
Woodbridge02
Moderate snow building back in. I'm going to have to measure again later.

The storm’s location never allowed for the bands to pivot east. No worries. Well all hopefully cash in this weekend!!
real
What happened near Fredericksburg Virginia that was supposed to be the bullseye?
astarck
Light snow picking up with the return of some greens on radar. I may make it to 10” if this can continue.
PivotPoint
Just over 11” on my parking roof in Arlington (Clarendon) What an incredible storm. Over 31 hours of continuous snowfall with a few very brief lulls oh, and it’s snowing again lol. Legit rates as the snow to the NW pivots through. What a day

peribonca
Everytime it looks like dry air is going to win out some light snow comes back into DC. Looks to stop in next 2 hours but wow what an amazing storm. Been a pleasure tracking and discussing with you all.
jayyy
By the way... fellow HoCo residents... that band to our north is about to pivot ESE toward the ocean. Snow is picking back up. Again. Need 0.5” to hit a foot.

Steve25
Credit to some of those models that get mocked like the CMC and NAM that I feel did a pretty nice job with this storm!
Ji
great storm...sorry for the meltdown this morning. I had a read some report overnight from SPC about a moderate to heavy snow period from 6am to 10am or something and there was a big lulz. Round 2 was amazing!

PrinceFrederickWx
Storm total (so far): 7.8" Had a lot of fun sledding with the kids today and making our annual snowman. Every year since the kids have been born we've managed at least one WSW event each year to build one.

Just a few miles up the west loop of 695 made a massive difference between the haves and have-nots. Oh well, still waiting for a big storm this winter. 1
