The back edge doesn't clear the river until after midnight now. It probably goes without saying, but we definitely want to see the LP wave develop more quickly as it rides the front. On some of the runs that show a more pronounced circulation over LI or CT, you can see the inflection point taking shape close to NYC such that precip north of there has a pivoting component to its movement. Not quite a conveyor belt structure, but the first signs of an emerging cloud head. On the whole, this has the potential to be a nice little event. Snow over achievers are always welcome. ForestHillWx
Turned to snow when I got to town at 5:00. Was all rain from Parsippany through Mendham. Agree with it coming down now; fresh inch in the past hour.

NepaJames8602
I recently moved to Mt. Cobb Pa, 1600' elevation on the Wayne/Lackawanna county border. I have received 5.0", 28 degrees with moderate snow still falling. Eyeing the radar, maybe another hour or two left. Hopefully I'll reach that 6" mark. Binghamton NWS did a great job forecasting this one out here.
Juliancolton
I'm not far from legitimate puking snow territory at the moment. Really coming down nicely.
gravitylover
Pouring rain here now. Why do I get the feeling that the cold is going to move in and I'm dealing with another ice storm... Fark

Pretty solid rates here, not quite what Dutchess is having but well over a half foot OTG out there.

Hah, I just crossed the 2" mark so I'm not running any victory laps yet. Just impressive rates for the time being... how long it lasts remains to be seen. I see a spotter reported 8" over by West Kill already, nice storm in the Catskills.

White Gorilla
Solid snowfall here in the Poughkeepsie area. Unfortunately my wife got hit from behind while coming home, creating 4-5 k damage. Thankfully she is ok.. As much as I love snow, I hate the risks of injury and damage it creates

MattyR
Unscientific, ruler-in-the-snow-on-the-patio measurement of 4.75 inches in Poughkeepsie near Red Oaks Mill. Best flakes and rates since the 11/15 storm.

gravitylover
Accidents are fun... Glad she's alright. Now it's big flakes but after a few hours of rain, and it's still 34*, over the .3/.4 from this afternoon over frozen ground I have a nice .2-.3" deep layer of slush on everything. This carp is going to freeze up hard.
White Gorilla
Stay safe everyone especially with the ice tomorrow on the ground and extreme cold thereafter. Back end will be moving through giving me a total of 6 inches. We never tainted here with rain.
