2/14/07 is the latest according to NOWdata. That’s the only season that lagged into Feb.

Can’t be right.  2006 had measurable 0.8 in December and 1.0 in January at BOS.  1999-00 didn’t get a trace before January.  Not a flake.  Ponder that.....

Quick check makes me think 2007 is the "winner", reaching cumulative 1"+ on Jan. 22, and 1st 1"+ event on V. Day.  Next latest I found was 1928, with 1/20 and 1/29, respectively.  Looks like 4 seasons since 1920 with no measurable snow thru 12/31, but my records don't include trace amounts for snow prior to 2007, so I can't tell (from those) if 1954, '74, '99 and 2000 were flake-free.

If next weekend misses, I think BOS could challenge that Jan 22nd date for reaching cumulative 1"+.

Agreed.  It's not a ratter pattern like 2011-2012....we're just in a rut of really bad luck.

BOS still at 0.2"*

*I know it's a fraud measurement.

At least in 2011 2012 we saved big on heating. If its frigid and dry this winter will hit us in the stomach and wallet.

Is there ever a point in which you begin to root for futility? Say February 15 comes and signs point to a warm March. Do you just go "Eh the hell with snow, earlier golf season."

I absolutely would at that point....no doubt. Fantasy baseball draft prep for me.
