frd
Europe getting nailed already as Bob mentioned. It appears it continues over there, and then as the Pac changes and improves for us further, some really cold air may be headed our way the end of Jan and in Feb. The SSWE continues and looks to be an extended event.

Yeah the GFS, Euro differences are a moot point at this time range. Neither model would be anywhere close that kind of a storm 7 days out.
NorthArlington101
ICON has a different looking storm but still gets us all some snow. . Pro
MD Snow
ICON is weaker than 12z. Pretty lame at H5 too. Light snow but not much. Storm slides off Hatteras and is too far east to effect areas in the NE. Don't remember seeing that NS Vort dropping into maine at 12z either. nj2va
So many panels missing from TT for the ICON so hard to tell what’s going on. Less interaction between the streams but we still get some snow which is a good sign I guess. Daughter PV also messing things up it seems.
AfewUniversesBelowNormal
Yup.. opposite of Stratosphere warming, more +NAO. Always expect it.
SnowGolfBro
One of my favorite pasttimes on here is when the icon shows a storm we all say yea but it’s the icon. Then a few hours later it slides the storm out to sea and it’s gospel. You could insert any model into this phenomenon. Alas we toss
Chris78
Heights are a little lower out in front. We are going to need a stronger vort to have the same results as 18z.
