TugHillMatt
I think we are heading in to a very suppressed pattern...with cutters mixed in. Just seems like one of those winters. Can't get the cold and moisture to interact.

First one might struggle. Big positive indicators all on board.

Way too many changes can take place.

rochesterdave
There will be a blockbuster in the NE inside of the next 10 days. Maybe 2. This should be an epic period. I’m super psyched.

SouthBuffaloSteve
Hour 348 of the Fv3... WOW!A WSW lake band with surface temps at -18F? Is that even possibleStarting to think something big could be coming soon! .
CNY-WXFREAK
no way a baroclinic zone like that sets up without something attacking it big time from the South. Whoever is worried about being too cold to snow, stop worrying cause its a big Myth!
CNY-WXFREAK
Not really much time if ya think about it. We have a couple boring days then we get a front Wed-Thurs then 2 days later the event everyone's talking about for Sat-Sun. If all the models have something then something's coming but what, is the question? With the amount of cold air around, I'd bet the white stuff as opposed to the rn, but thats just me! wolfie09
If the core of the HP comes down on the backside like that we probably see a snowstorm. Models are undercutting the HP across the entire country lol
CNY-WXFREAK
What an awesome upcoming 4-6 weeks! Can build a great glacier in that time frame just like 14-15', lol!
CNY-WXFREAK
If the weather is anywhere near as exciting as the 00Z GFS even suggests, then this could rival some great ones if it actually comes to fruition, but I at least think we see 1 or 2 KU storms in the next several weeks! SouthBuffaloSteve
I know we’re all getting excited for the snow potential starting to stick as the models progress but holy smokes the extreme cold being advertised now to close the month looks down right dangerous! If it were to verify could be looking at all time records being set almost everywhere... -20F surface temp at DC? There all time record low is -5F that’s how anomalous this cold could be. We would have some modification with the lakes but still down into the minus teens... oh and lake responses are being highlighted! Have a feeling some of us will need to be digging tunnels to get out the door by February 1st... .
