I feel I scored a major victory in that we didn't flood. Solid pack in my backyard, 5" at the stake, but still 42F

Well you guys don't have to have any more snow envy as far as I am concerned. Lost most all of it!! Just spoke to Alex. Annoc. River almost overflowed but didn't. Below is my before and after pic and a picture of Alex's property.
wxmanmitch
2.38" storm total rainfall. The snow pack held up surprisingly well given that I mixed out and was warm for > 24 hours. Still total coverage. I haven't measured yet, but it looks like 4-7" on average. Upslope is cranking pretty good at the moment. Around 1/2" new and moderate snow. Hoping to get some of my snow back. Spanks45
Had some pretty strong winds yesterday morning, but nothing out of the ordinary. We ended up with 3.60" of rain though, it feels like the middle of spring, after the first real thaw. Everywhere you walk, you sink 3 inches into the mud, time to cover up with some snow now.... In a selfish way I don't get to ski much through the 1st so if there's a time for a break it's now. But I really feel for all the hardworking families that look forward to this for months and spend all that money on a family vacation in Ski Country. It's funny though, no one I've talked to from Boston or NY is surprised. They seem to expect the Xmas rain like all of us on this board do. They say it's either raining or -30 below every year we come up. Its like looking forward to a week at the Cape in August only to have it rain the entire time. Officially we will have a white Xmas but you know the look. Old snowpack, ice, grass and mud on the snowbanks, etc. the classic post thaw look in New England. Just switched to snow above 1,300ft as I drove up to work to help out this afternoon. It happens so frequently that I question why anybody even risks a family ski trip for this week ? Yeah, I know scheduling is tight with a family but better skiing is almost guaranteed for February break or pull the kids out of school two days and do a nice long weekend later in the winter. Hazey
Man this was the EF5 version of a snowpack eater. Just wiped everything bare. Those with well built packs just reduced to rubble. This thing had rains right up into northern Quebec. Left no one unscathed. Crazy.

Find me an ASOS over 40kts other than MQE. Most were 45-55mph. 45-50mph+ is just about over into my impressive range. Especially with how sustained it was.
