North and West
My kids and I were outside playing catch yesterday. It was nice. They were eschewing the Xbox by themselves and waiting to get out. The early cold in November and lack of snow, combined with rain and then cold and dry has made this feel like a trudge. bluewave
Don’t think anyone would have forecast Seattle to have more snowfall than Boston by February 4th. At 12:00 PM PST, Seatac [King Co, WA] OFFICIAL NWS OBS reports SNOW of 2.50 INCH. MEASURED BY THE SEATAC OBSERVER. TOTAL 1 INCH THROUGH MIDNIGHT AND 1.5 INCHES SINCE MIDNIGHT FOR A STORM TOTAL OF 2.5 INCH https://mesonet.agron.iastate.edu/wx/afos/p.php?pil=CLIBOS&e=201902040618

That's one of my favorite winter's. 2 foot snow pack the second week of March with layers from about a dozen storms going back to January. Two separate events with sub-zero. Long Island Sound mostly frozen over. Sorry for the guys in urban NJ that didn't like it, but 2014-15 was a great winter here. 1

hooralph
I just wanted to jump into this thread to say: this winter sucks, so hard. So very, very hard. I would take the wall-to-wall warmth of 2011-2012 over this. Even with the cold snaps, it ranks up there with the banal dullness of 1991-1992. The sidewalks are disgusting with grime and salt from last week's Squallpocalpyse and Polar Vortex Death Freeze. We need an Old Testament-style flooding rain to cleanse the city like the filthy hellhole it is. Can we just hurry up and get to the inevitable cool, damp spring? Carry on.
