Upstate Tiger
Woke up to 2” of snow overnight. 31 and moderate sleet right now. Winds really whipping. Living at northern tip of Gaston County near border with Lincoln and Cleveland I thought we’d be in the 6” - 12” range. Wise to pay attention to NAM inside 48 hrs. Can’t say I’m disappointed though. I’m 53 and can count on 1 hand number of winter storms I’ve experienced before Christmas. Now heading out to sled with grandson!

eyewall
Looks like north of 6 inches now here in southwest Durham. I am in a wooded area so there is less under some trees but everything is pasted nicely. Freeze
Started snowing here about 1AM. Lasted about 30 - 45 minutes and switched to sleet/freezing rain. Dusting on the ground and 34.5 degrees when I hit the sack at 2PM. Got up at 7:30 and a good 2-3 inches of snow on the ground. No way to tell how much of the snow got beaten down by sleet & freezing rain. Currently 30.2 degrees and a good amount of sleet falling from the sky.
