Voyager
While nearly every tree in the area is winter bare, this one is holding out for a little while longer.
cromartie
Nice pic. We have a few like that here. All bare and then a blazing orange full leaf tree.
michsnowfreak
Nice pic. Yes you always get those holdouts when most trees are bare, which makes them stand out more than they would if they turned when fall color was at its peak. They like the attention, "look at me, look at me!" ;-)

Eskimo Joe
I'm curious to know what species of tree that is. Seems rather hardy.
wxmanmitch
I'm curious to know what species of tree that is. Seems rather hardy. Looks like a Norway Maple. They're always the last trees to defoliate in the fall and the first to leaf out in the spring. I hate them since they are essentially non-native weed trees that snuff out the native species such as the more colorful sugar maples. I've seen entire hillsides of pretty much nothing but Norway Maple. They really invade to the point where there is no biodiversity. Don't plant them. I think MA and NH have actually banned them from nurseries.
