Not exactly encouraging...

Temperature should drop throughout the evening aloft as dynamic cooling taking place on the northern side of the low.

Great info. Does it show for how many feet/meters that it is above freezing?

Yes. UNC-A is 658 m above sea level. The 851 mb level is 883.4 m above UNC-A and 789 mb level is 1488.8 m above UNC-a.

fv3 still showing a changeover to very heavy snow for a few hours down to gainesville. Nam still says no and only shows a change to freezing rain toward sunrise.  Hrrr still showing a changeover to heavy sleet.  Going to be fascinating to see which model, the fv3 or nam, wins this one.

If the NAM wins, it seems that the freezing rain could produce some significant damage. It’s interesting as it seems the level of uncertainty with this storm could create a decent amount of impact, and not sure if people are prepared cause everyone confused about what it’s gonna do.....

GSP just expanded the winter storm warnings.

It always makes me feel a little better when I’m situated north of the southernmost warned and advised areas. Wouldn’t be the first time the wheels have come off, though. (Im)Patiently waiting on that wedge to settle in

yes. The warm nose will almost always win out.

The mods have already said if you can't back up your statements with valid facts then it's probably best to keep quiet and keep this kind of baseless blabbering to yourself. Yet... here you still are.

While the GFS likes central NC. The EURO had a strong shift north. Im guessing the EuroENS will follow the op run.

NAM did so well last winter, now that we see Euro adjusting towards NAM it worries me that it is simply getting a better track on the L and the warm air aloft that comes with it.
