mattie g
I’m so looking forward to reading obs the rest of the season which have Richmond pouring rain with some sleet at 32.1F and MBY is 24F and ripping dendrites. Those are the good ones.

Today is not that day You can’t even make this stuff up. That is just a hard kick in the pills. It will be snowing heavily just 50-75 miles to my south but it will look and feel like snow all day long. I’m gonna need a bigger bottle of something. Missing snow to our north is a constant..missing it to the south is a gut punch with a side of slaw. But you do a hell of a job with analysis and humor in any situation and for that many thanks! We’ll get ours at some point. I need to keep saving so I can move to a better snow climo location where rain is the exception. My brother who lives in Michigan has had half of our snow climo in November alone. Bastard! And he hates snow!

The Vdot trucks were holding up traffic, brining for several miles at a stretch with a police escort behind them to keep the travelers far back. Looked like a funeral procession. I'm not necessarily questioning the purpose of the brine, however why do it in the middle of the day toward Rush Hour on a work day? You have three or four more days to work with. Can easily do it overnight Friday night or Saturday night, closer to the event. They must be looking at Deep Thunder I envy you man. Get ready for INSANE snow rates. I am just a bit too far away lol. If I had some extra cash though........

CAPE
First guess sounds something like- its probably going to snow significantly in certain locations of VA and NC. Details later. If you are drawing up a detailed accumulation map, then you making a damn call.
